The sustainable journey of Pu-erh tea

Traditional Craftsmanship and Raw Materials

The sustainable Pu-erh tea journey is crafted with a deep respect for age-old traditions, originating from the historic Tea Horse Road. Furthermore, the meticulous selection of raw materials is fundamental, with each leaf hand-picked based on the stringent criteria of one bud with two leaves.

Subsequently, these leaves undergo a crucial low-temperature pan-firing and manual rolling process, which is vital for deactivating enzymes, stopping oxidation, and preserving the leaves' vibrant green hue and fresh flavors. Following pan-firing, the leaves are sun-dried, with any yellow leaves carefully removed, ensuring only the highest quality leaves proceed to the next stages of production.

Our Sustainable Art of Pressing and Drying

The initial preparation leads to expert steaming of the leaves in baskets. Next, we shape them into cakes using traditional stone molds. This process showcases the artisanal skills of our Puerhcraft tea makers. After that we air-dry these cakes naturally, respecting ancient tea preservation methods. Every step, from steaming to drying, is precise and careful. It shows our dedication to crafting Pu-erh tea cakes that are not only beautiful but also full of flavor.

Sustainability in Packaging

Puerhcraft journey sets the standard for environmental responsibility in the tea industry. We were the first to secure an environmental patent for bamboo tea packaging. For over ten years, we have used handcrafted bamboo pulp cotton paper for our tea cakes. This reflects our commitment to sustainability, further enhancing our active role in the Yunnan Tea Industry Association.

Quality and Production Ethics

Puerhcraft Pu-erh tea cakes excel in quality, despite our limited production capacity. Additionally, Each cake undergoes careful drying, crucial for enhancing the tea's flavor as it ages. This method contrasts with machine-pressed cakes, which can trap moisture and risk mold. Our dedication to traditional drying methods ensures our tea maintains its authenticity and quality, aging gracefully.

Why Choose Puercraft?
