Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • 2 Pu-erh tea bags or 2 tablespoons loose Pu-erh tea
  • 1/4 cup ginger marmalade
  • 2 tablespoons fresh ginger, thinly sliced
  • 1-2 tablespoons honey or agave syrup (for a vegan option)
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves and lemon slices for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Brew the Tea: Bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add the Pu-erh tea bags or loose tea, and let it steep for 5-7 minutes. Remove the tea bags or strain the loose tea.
  2. Prepare the Ginger Syrup: In a small saucepan, combine the ginger marmalade, fresh ginger slices, and honey or agave syrup. Simmer over low heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally until the marmalade dissolves completely. Remove from heat and let it cool.
  3. Combine and Chill: In a large pitcher, mix the brewed Pu-erh tea and the ginger syrup. Stir well to combine. Let it chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or until cold.
  4. Serve: Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the chilled tea over the ice. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and lemon slices if desired.
